My yoga space is carpeted, and I’m having a lot of trouble with balancing poses. (It’s a dense pile carpet, which I put my yoga mat on top of.) Would a hard surface help with balance, or is the carpet going to help me develop even stronger muscles (eventually)?
Yes, it’s much easier to balance on a harder surface, but you may learn to appreciate the challenge, since it makes you focus more on planting the foot firmly and watching the movement of the ankle. Not sure if this means that you will be developing stronger muscles, but it’s possible!
