I discovered this concept 4 or 5 years ago. It has to do with being at a threshold or on the verge of something new. Kind of an in between state. I’ve used this in thinking about my yoga journey. There are some poses that I think I’m on the verge of getting but I’m not quite there yet. Who knows how long it will take me to get there if ever.
So I’m in this in between state where I can feel like something may change and maybe I’ll cross over.
I think what this has done for me is given me hope for that new change to come and even if it doesn’t quite make it there is a possibility of it happening. And that possibility makes me keep wanting to try for it.
It’s living on the edge on that threshold that keeps the practice fresh.
This has taken my determination up a few notches.
So live on the edge! Liminality.
