I am wondering if one can meditate while riding a bike. I went riding today (on an easy, paved trail) and practiced focusing only on my breath going in and out of my lungs, and on my leg muscles and exactly how they felt and what they were doing, without judgment. However, obviously a small part of my mind had to pay attention to where I was going, the other people and dogs on the trail, when to stop, etc. Could this be considered meditation?
Yes, of course! Meditation is meant to be practiced so that you can be more mindful and aware of your body and surroundings at all times, essentially meditating! It sounds like what you were doing is just that!
