Hello, I recently started the series for beginners, which is great! About halfway through, I started to lose circulation along my hip area. I scaled back on the sitting position, but then lost the full benefit of the stretches. I feel the loss of circulation is due to the extra “love” I have accumulated over the last couple of years. I haven’t lost very much flexibility, however. Any suggestions?

Absolutely! By the way, way to go taking on the beginner series. It’s a great place to start.
There are two things that you can do to decrease the chances of the loss of circulation you’re describing. One, sit up a bit higher, on a block or folded blanket. Two, place something under both thighs, to lift them slightly. A rolled up blanket or towel could work.

I do usually place my soft rug rolled up under my back for several postures for the same reason too. Good to read the detailed reason and process behind it
