I often get cramps in the arch of my foot when extending, for example, in child’s pose, or other times. Any suggestions?
I got a lot of cramps when I first started, they have gradually eased through practice, though I still use a rolled up towel under my feet for childs pose which helped.
Make sure to drink plenty of water. Magnesium can also reduce cramps, but talk to your doctor first.
This used to happen to me often when I first started getting into what I would call a serious practice. I never found anything that really helped to stop it from happening except continuing to practice. Eventually it just stopped. Now I can’t remember the last time I got a foot cramp.
