Savitri pranayama technique

I’m beginning the Yoga Challenge 30 days to deep relaxation course. It’s amazing to feel the beneficial effects so quickly. My question regards the savitri pranayama technique. At the beginning of each hold, is the glottis open or closed? If closed then I would relax all the respiratory muscles and let the closed glottis prevent airfow or if open I would have to keep the respiratory muscles from moving in order to prevent airflow.

Hi there. Apologies for the delay in responding. The glottis is closed. It’s easiest this way to hold the breath so that you can relax your body at the same time.
