Yoga with Kids at Home - Any Advice? Here's what worked for me

Hi everyone! As a parent who recently started yoga (thanks to some gentle nudging from friends), I was overwhelmed at first—between finding time and figuring out which poses actually work with kids around. After trial and error, here’s what helped me:

  • Short sessions (10-15 mins during naps or playtime)
  • Kid-friendly poses (like ‘tree pose’ challenges with my toddler)
  • Breathwork for stress (lifesaver during chaotic days!)

I always found that I was the best parent possible by getting up a bit earlier than my kids and doing a 30 minute practice. Then when they get up I am more patient, calm, happy, and they are too! Mornings vs evening is when I have energy too
